Your first step is to select a niche market for your web site.If you already have a niche web site, take a look at your competition and improve your site.

Examine the marketplace and select a market niche that you are comfortable working in.You can do this by going to a site like clickbank.com which has 100,000 sites that are selling on the internet.

The purpose of clickbank is to provide a place for sellers of products to offer their products to people who are interested in promoting these products as affiliates.Clickbank acts as an intermediary and pays the seller and the affiliate a percentage of each sale.(I am not promoting clickbank.com but use them myself.)

Look over the various categories for a niche area you might be interested in for your new niche site.Click on some of the "pitch pages" and look at the sites.Your goal will be to create a simple content website.

A simple content web site is really not simple at all. It is a carefully constructed and crafted one theme site focusing on one topic or niche.To be successful this site must be optimized for easy seach engine access and use selected keywords sparingly in critical areas of the site.

Your selection and placement of keywords is critical to your success.So how do you do this?Find out what keywords your competitors are using by looking at their pitch pages.

After each page comes up, click on View on your tool bar and then click on source this will drop down the html code for you to look at.Near the top of the page will be meta Description and meta keywords and the title.Use those keywords in google search engine to find the top players in this niche and look at their keywords.Write them down or save to a notepad file.You are going to use some of these individually or in phrases.
