Before you begin to do the off page promoting of your niche site ( emails,forumns,submitting articles,backlinks,etc; ) you need to focus your attention on your choice of keywords and how you plan to use them.Website promotion done properly results in high targeted traffic and a high ranking in the various search engines.Your first step in choosing a niche for your web page will be wasted if you don't pick your keywords carefully for use in the Title,Meta description,Meta keywords and Body of the website. After you have looked at the top 5 or so websites in your niche and copied down their main keywords you are ready to continue your analysis.Out of the pile of these keywords you only want a few but which ones should you pick? What you are looking for are a few keywords or phrases that have a fairly high monthly search volume and a low number of competing websites for those keywords.To pull this off, you will need to use a keyword analyser on your pile of keywords. There are some free keyword analysers that are good enough to get you started. You can look them over on Google with "free keyword analysis software " or some other search terms.These are generally fairly limited in scope to number of searches per month and density or pages using that keyword.But you can use them to peel down your list to a more manageable size.
